There’s loads happening in and around Liverpool in 2018. We’ll be posting some of our best picks here.
12th January: a new exhibition at the Open Eye Gallery in Mann Island, The Pier Head by Tom Wood, charting 25 years in photos through the 70s and 80s, taken on his daily commute on the Mersey Ferry. On until 25th March, free entry.
18th January: RIBA North West presents ‘Entrepreneurship: Creativity + Innovation‘, 5.30-8pm at Mann Island in Liverpool, speakers include Granby Workshop‘s Sumuyya Khader, free entry but you must book.
25th January: The Beautiful Ideas Company, in collaboration with Folken, is launching 2018 with a micro-granting event, to be held at Constellations in the Baltic Triangle. Find out more and book tickets.
26th January: a new exhibition at the Museum of Liverpool, The Blind School: Pioneering people and place, tells the story behind Liverpool’s Royal School for the Blind, which was the first school for blind people in the UK. On until 15th April, free entry.
27th January: Liverpool’s Everyman theatre will open its doors on Saturday 27 January for a family-friendly event giving people the chance to discover what goes on behind the scenes at the Hope Street venue. More information…
5th February: Sian Owen is launching her new book ‘Social on a Shoestring’ (available for pre-order on Amazon as either an ebook or paperback and iTunes too (link TBC)). If you’ve ever wondered how to keep up with the big companies but without their budget, this is the book for you.
5th February: Liverpool Girl Geeks are holding their first event of the year at Launch 22, TIthebarn Street, Liverpool. In collaboration with the innovative bank Monzo, they will be discussing tech innovation in the financial sector, cultivating diversity and inclusivity, open banking APIs, how to fun a start up and building communities. 9th February: Just in case you had forgotten, tickets are now on sale for the new exhibition at the World Museum in Liverpool for ‘China’s First Emperor & The Terracotta Warriors’. The show launches on 9th February until 28th October 2018. This is a first – the exhibition has never been seen in the UK outside London and includes brand new artefacts never seen outside China.
