Bootle Festival of Ideas

Launched by Make CIC and part-funded by Kindred in September 2020, the Bootle Festival of Ideas was commissioned by Sefton Council as part of the year’s celebration for Sefton Borough of Culture, with the aim of investing in small ideas and giving them space to grow.

We supported the Festival of Ideas with marketing, branding, website development and communications to spread the word far and wide, and event coordination to help bring the festival to reality.

The eight-week festival brought local people together to share ideas related to five themes: Making and Selling; Food and Growing; Music and Culture; Health and Wellbeing; and Spaces for Change.

We’ve worked on a series of similar events in North Liverpool, Wirral and in specific sectors, and brought that experience to the Bootle project. From the 98 ideas generated, eight finalists all got a share of a development pot – and we were on hand to support communications to share their stories.
