Culturepool was created to engage local people with local culture, aiming to break-down perceived class or social notions surrounding the arts.
Set-up in 2007, Culturepool organised and promoted healthy inclusion into the arts, via an extended programme of events, gallery visits and theatre trips; song and dance and poetry. It became a haven for people who might never have had the confidence to go solo to cultural events, or who felt they didn’t know enough to join in.
As its warm welcome became a staple of the city’s arts scene, Culturepool asked us to write a cool square booklet for its fifth birthday, bringing all of those experiences together.
We wrote content, managed the project and oversaw the small print run, working closely with designer Mike Snowden to ensure the finished article was as visually appealing as the content it covered.
