The annual Light Night festival has become one of the key events in the Liverpool arts scene, bringing a European feel to the streets, while retaining a distinctly Scouse edge. We’d worked with Open Culture (the driving force behind Light Night) for almost a decade, and helped it pioneer a new style brochure for the 2017 event.
Where previously Open Culture had created free event guides for Light Night, it was keen to make the festival sustainable by generating a small income from programmes – whilst reducing waste.
For the 2017 edition, we suggested turning the brochure into something more viable. Writing the brochure copy, we highlighted key events, performances, and installations and gave it life beyond the night itself by including cultural events over the summer, and getting the stories behind Light Night’s commissions and concepts, by talking to the artists involved.
