The Essential Guide, Visit Wirral

Project: book, guide, words, design, brand, tourist, local, Wirral

The Essential Guide does what it says on the tin (the tin being the gorgeous front cover, bearing a snapchat of the Wirral in all it’s beautiful beachside glory); it’s a guide to the Wirral, jam packed with all the essential information about the local areas, the best bits, the where to’s, the reasons why the Wirral is worth visiting; worth adoring. But this is more than just a tourist guide, it’s an homage to the home of the locals, a reminder for them of the brilliant place that they live, of all the wonder it has to offer and how to explore it again with a fresh perspective.

Following on from our work on Left Bank, the Wirral Council chose Wordscape to create this essential guide with the spirit of Left Bank infused, capturing the essence of the Wirral and creating not a rigid manual, but a lighthearted lifestyle handbook, a book for the hands whilst the feet are busy traversing this cultural land. We began working on the guide in February 2024 then published it in May, distributed all across the North West (with other national routes, too). It’s July 2024 now, and we’re about to embark on the updated version of the guide – which extra details and delights to include – with the intent of publishing at the end of September 2024.
